Eagle Grove man dead after auto accident in Webster county

RURAL WEBSTER COUNTY – An Eagle Grove man is dead after an auto accident in Webster county Sunday afternoon.

According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, 72-year-old Larry Dencklau of Eagle Grove was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram Pick Up south on Xavier Avenue at about 1:33 PM Sunday afternoon, May 19. As he approached the uncontrolled intersection at 170th Street, an eastbound 2004 Chevy Silverado pickup driven by 20-year-old Noah Tesler of Fort Dodge also approached, on 170th Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection an Tesler was ejected, the report says.

Noah Tesler and a passenger, 15-year-old Nathan Tesler, were both injured and taken to hospitals.

Dencklau died as a result of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by Webster County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa DNR, Vincent Fire and Rescue and  Fort Dodge Fire and Rescue.
