Davenport police describe bizarre gun incident at mall

DAVENPORT – Davenport police described a bizarre gun incident in which a male subject produced a gun at a food court in a mall.

On Monday May 6, 2019 at approximately 9:02 PM Davenport Police responded to a disturbance call at the North Park Mall food court located at 320 W Kimberly Road. Preliminary information described a black male, early 20’s entering the food court area (from the south entrance doors) with a gun (described as a fake, possible cap gun) and pointed up in the air, squeezing the trigger, stating “next time it will be real.” The subject then fled, out of the same door. No injuries or damage was reported.

The suspect was described as a black male, 20’s, skinny build, wearing a black hoodie (pulled over face) and baggy shorts.

Detectives are following up on the incident. No further information is available at this time.
