DES MOINES, IA – Today, Pete for America announced four staff hires in Iowa that will lead a robust statewide campaign. The Iowa team brings years of experience serving on campaigns and in the advocacy arena.
Brendan McPhillips, Iowa State Director
Brendan brings years of political experience to the Pete for America team. He served as Campaign Manager for Andrew Gillum in his upset victory in the Florida gubernatorial Democratic primary, Political Director for Pete for DNC, Campaign Manager for John Fetterman for U.S. Senate, and Pennsylvania Political Director for Hillary for America. Brendan also worked on the Obama re-election campaign in 2012.
Ben Halle, Iowa Communications Director
A University of Iowa graduate, Ben is a seasoned communications professional, most recently serving as Press Secretary and Associate Director of Campaign Communications for Planned Parenthood Federation of America. He previously worked as the Communications Director for Rep. Adam Smith in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Sydney Throop, Iowa Outreach Coordinator
Sydney joins the Pete for America Iowa team after serving as the Iowa Regional Organizer for Reason to Believe PAC. Prior to that, Sydney worked as the Field Director for a Secretary of State campaign in Massachusetts and as the organizing director for a statewide political organizing nonprofit, Fair Shot for All.
Sara Goldstein, Regional Organizing Director
Sara is a veteran field organizer with campaign experience in Iowa, Florida, and Ohio. She also worked at the White House during the Obama Administration.
Pete for America will make additional hires to the Iowa team in the coming weeks as the grassroots energy around the campaign continues to grow.
