ROCKWELL – A vehicle rollover accident near Rockwell injured an Iowa Falls man Monday afternoon.
On April 29, 2019 at 3:08 PM, Cerro Gordo county deputies responded to a single vehicle rollover accident that occurred at Hwy. 65 and 170th St. The vehicle, a green 1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara, was being driving north bound on Hwy. 65 by the driver, Frances Engelking age 54 of Iowa Falls, IA. Eye witnesses stated that the the vehicle drifted off the roadway onto the east shoulder, Engelking over corrected to get back onto the roadway. The vehicle went over the line into the south bound lane and onto the west shoulder. Engelking over-corrected to steer back onto the roadway were the vehicle started to skid and then rollover several times coming to rest in the east ditch on the roof Engelking was trapped in the vehicle for a short time until she was extricated by the fire personnel on scene.
Engelking was transported to Mercy ER by Mercy Air Med with unknown injuries.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mercy Air Med, Rockwell police, Mason City fire and Iowa State Patrol.
