FOREST CITY – The Puckerbrush Days committee of Forest City has set dates and released an entertainment schedule for its 2019 celebration. The festivities will take place from Thursday, July 18 – Sunday, July 21.

Headlining the weekend of entertainment is Pianopalooza, a Des Moines-based piano cover group with a full band that covers music from the 1950s to the current hits of today. Pianopalooza is returning to Puckerbrush Days after performing at the festival in 2016, 2017 and 2018. The band is scheduled to perform on Friday evening, July 19.

Opening for Pianopalooza on Friday night, the Puckerbrush Committee has booked Levi Smith, singer and guitar player from Mason City. On Saturday evening, July 20, performers include Forest City singer Sydney Pederson, Mason City singer/songwriter Juni West, and Mankato, Minn.-based indie rock quartet Good Night Gold Dust. All street dances will be free admission and open to all ages.

Event-goers can also plan to see several events from previous years such as the Thursday afternoon Farmer’s Market, Pet Parade, Battle of the Businesses on Friday before the street dance, as well as the Saturday morning parade, craft show, food vendors and fireworks at Pammel Park on Saturday evening.

Additionally, the Puckerbrush Days committee is looking for businesses and individuals who are interested in sponsoring the celebration. For those interested in becoming a sponsor, or for general information about the celebration, contact Kathy Rollefson at the Forest City Chamber of Commerce at (641) 585-2092.

The mission of Puckerbrush Days is to promote community pride and showcase Forest City to the region with an assertive, community-powered collaboration between local businesses, schools, churches, service clubs and volunteers.
