KANSAS CITY – Iowa State defeated Baylor in their Big 12 tourney opening game, 83-66, Thursday in Kansas City.
Talen Horten-Tucker led the Cyclone attack with 21 points, while Marial Shayok chipped in 18 and Lindell Wigginton score 16. The Cyclones shot a strong 51.7% filed goal percentage.
Iowa State led by 9 at halftime, 38-29. Their record improves to 21-11 on the season.
The Cyclones next play the winner of the TCU-Kansas State matchup, in the semi-final round.
