MASON CITY – Autam Mendez scored 30 points and Mandy Willems scored 28 points to lead No. 5 NIACC to a 102-69 victory over Southeastern CC in an ICCAC women’s basketball contest Sunday afternoon in the NIACC gym.
NIACC, which dropped a 77-71 decision to No. 10 Kirkwood on Saturday, led 45-25 at the half. The Lady Trojans outscored the Blackhawks 57-44 in the second half to improve its record to 13-5 overall and 4-1 in the ICCAC.
Willems connected on six 3-point goals and Mendez made four 3-point goals.
Mendez led the Lady Trojans with 12 rebounds and Willems grabbed eight rebounds. It was Mendez’ fourth double-double of the season.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Tahya Campbell scored 18 points with five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Alexa Loftus also reached double figures with 13 points.
NIACC returns to action Wednesday at home against Little Priest Tribal College. Game time is slated for 5:30 p.m.
