BOONE, IOWA – An Iowa man has been sentenced to decades in prison after a guilty plea to 8 counts of sex abuse of minors.

A sentencing hearing was held on January 7, 2019 on the case State v. Randall John Bielfelt. At the sentencing hearing a District Court Judge sentenced Randall John Biefelt to 75 years in prison with the Iowa Department of Corrections. The sentencing hearing was a result of a jury trial in which on November 30, 2018, a Boone County jury found, Randall John Bielfelt, 69, of Boone, Iowa, guilty of four (4) counts of Sex Abuse in the 2nd Degree and four (4) counts Sex Abuse in the 3rd Degree, in violation of Iowa Code section 709.3(1)(b) and 709.4(1)(b), respectively.

According to the testimony at trial, a victim reported to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office that Randall Bielfelt committed sex abuse to her and two other minor victims. The three victims testified at trial reporting that Randall Biefelt sexually abused them in Boone and he told them to not tell anyone. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case and testified to the investigator’s findings. The defense called several witnesses including the defendant, Randall Bielfelt.

At the sentencing hearing the court heard from several people in support of the defendant and several victim impact statements. In the end the Court weighed all the factors and sentenced the defendant to 75 years in prison with the Iowa Department of Corrections. Since these counts were forcible felonies and had mandatory minimums, Randall Bielfelt will have to serve 52 ½ years before he will be eligible for parole.

Assistant Iowa Attorney General Susan Krisko and Boone County Attorney Daniel Kolacia tried the case on behalf of the State of Iowa for the prosecution. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office handled the investigation.

he will think it has ended, cons don’t like in fact hate child abusers and his ol’ A-hole is gunna go from o to O in a very short time.

So he will die in prison, but potentially at an old age. Costing how much a year? Come on, this just doesn’t make sense. If he did something bad enough to spend the rest of his life in prison, why not just end it now?
