IOWA CITY – A man who insidiously killed a young girl in New York state and another young girl in Iowa died in an Iowa prison.
Charles Edward Lasage was pronounced dead due to chronic illness at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital, where he had been taken due to long-term illness. Lasage was 61 years old at the time of his death.
Lasage had been serving a lifetime sentence for the crime of Murder 1st Degree from Polk County. His incarceration began on January 25, 1993.
According to published reports, Lasage murdered an 11-year-old Niagara Falls, New York girl in 1986, convicted of murder, rape and sodomy. He also killed an 11-year-old girl in Iowa in 1991 in a similar way.

He should have been executed immediately after conviction.
25 years at $35,000.00 a year. A lot people that work full time, don’t even make that much. Just think how much tax payer money could have been saved.
35k is the low end cost. This guy had medical treatments, and daily medicine. His yearly cost was upwards of 60k.
