Iowa woman’s suspicious death ruled a homicide

DES MOINES – A husband reported his wife had been gravely injured and after her death, authorities have ruled a homicide had taken place and are looking for clues.

On November 10, 2018, at approximately 12:05 PM, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and emergency medical services responded to a 911 call by Todd Mullis at 1722 255th Avenue, Earlville, Iowa, regarding his wife Amy Mullis. Shortly thereafter, Amy was pronounced dead upon her arrival at Regional Medical Center in Manchester, Iowa. Todd reported Amy’s death was unattended.

An autopsy was completed by the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny and the Autopsy Report listed the manner of death as homicide.

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation and requested the assistance of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
