Montgomery

AMES – Iowa State junior running back David Montgomery and senior cornerback Brian Peavy were named First-Team All-American by Pro Football Focus this morning.

Montgomery was a first-teamer by PFF in 2017.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Montgomery had another stellar season for the Cyclones in 2018, ranking third in the Big 12 and 24th nationally in rushing yards per game (99.3).

Montgomery reached the 1,000-yard barrier (1,092) in the final regular season game to become just the eighth player in school history to record multiple 1,000-yard seasons. He had six 100-yard rushing games and led the Cyclones in touchdowns with 12, all by rush.

Montgomery, who is on pace to lead the nation in forced missed tackles for the second year in a row, ranks fourth in 100-yard rushing games (14), seventh in rushing yards (2,801) and ninth in rushing touchdowns (25) on Iowa State’s career record charts.

Peavy

Peavy is a four-time All-Big 12 recipient who graded out as one of the best cornerbacks nationally.

The Houston, Texas native tallied 51 tackles, 4.0 TFL and led the team in takeaways (three) and passes defended (nine). His career 44 passes defended is second among active FBS players.

The two-time team captain has 46 starts, 283 tackles, 15.0 TFL, six interceptions and five forced fumbles in his outstanding career.
