Two hurt in accident outside Mason City

RURAL MASON CITY – Two people were hurt in an auto accident outside Mason City Saturday.

Cerro Gordo county deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries. The accident occurred in the 20000 block of Mallard Ave. A 2018 GMC Acadia driven by 60-year-old Kim Kuntz of St. Ansgar was northbound and lost control and collied with a 2012 Chrysler Mini Van driven by 48-year-old Jason Grahn of Northwood.

As a result of the Kuntz and a passenger, Kaye Grahn, were transported to Mercy North Iowa Medical Center for evaluation.

Kuntz was cited for fail to maintain control.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and Mason City Free Department.
