AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior guard Bridget Carleton was named to the 2018-19 Wooden Award Preseason List. Carleton has already been named to the Cheryl Miller Watch List and was a Preseason All-Big 12 honoree.
Carleton led Iowa State in 2017-18 with 19.2 points per game, ranking third all-time in the ISU single-season record book. Her 594 points on the year ranked fourth behind Angie Welle’s 2001 campaign. Carleton also set a single-season record in field goal attempts with 520.
In addition to her 19.2 points per game, she averaged 6.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.2 steals. Carleton also garnered AP All-America honorable mention honors along with her second-straight stint as a unanimous First-Team All-Big 12 selection.
The Wooden Award watch lists are published throughout the season. Players not on the current list are eligible for inclusion in later lists.
Carleton and the Cyclones will open the 2018-19 season on Friday at noon in Hilton Coliseum against Niagara in the Preseason WNIT.
