Waldorf University introduces English as a Second Language Endorsement

FOREST CITY – Waldorf University will now offer the English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement as an option to Education students. The university was notified by the Iowa Department of Education on Oct. 5 that they had been approved to begin offering the ESL endorsement to students as one of several endorsements available within the Bachelor of Science in Education curriculum.

The ESL endorsement will prepare future educators for an instructional license to provide education instruction to elementary through secondary school students regarding English as a foreign or second language. The endorsement is available immediately to current and future students who attend Waldorf University.

The mission of the Waldorf University Education Department is to prepare engaging teachers to serve a community of learners. Through the Waldorf Teacher Preparation Program, students experience exemplary learning opportunities both on campus and in the area K-12 school districts. Additionally, Waldorf Teacher Education students learn to assume roles as leaders, advocates and servants within the professional setting and the community.
