NIACC women’s cross country team ranked No. 17

MASON CITY – The NIACC women’s cross country team is tied for 17th with Lansing CC in the second USTFCCA NJCAA Divison I poll released Wednesday.

Iowa Central is ranked first and Hawkeye CC is ranked 15th.

NIACC was ranked 14th in the initial poll released on Sept. 19.

The NIACC women placed 36th out of 51 teams at the University of Arkansas Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival on Sept. 22 in Fayetteville, Ark.

Freshman Emma Davison led the NIACC women with a 179th place finish in a time of 20 minutes, 2 seconds on the 5-kilometer course.

Other counting scores for the Lady Trojans were sophomore Julia Dunlavey (211th in 20:28), Caitlyn Regan (229th in 20:46) and Cecelia Hemsworth (291st in 21:29).

NIACC returns to action on Oct. 12 at the second annual Trent Smith Invitational on the NIACC campus.
