MASON CITY – The NIACC men’s soccer team topped Riverland CC 4-2 in a nonconference match Friday afternoon on the NIACC campus.
The match was tied 1-1 at the half but the Trojans outscored the Blue Knights 3-1 the second 45 minutes to claim their second straight victory.
NIACC received a pair of second-half goals from Kalle Kantelinen, who now has eight career goals. Also scoring for the Trojans were Vinicius de Oliveira and Thomas Humphreys.
Lewis Saunders had two assists for NIACC. de Oliveira and Aleksander Trujic also had assists for the Trojans.
NIACC (3-3-1 overall, 1-0-1 in the ICCAC) returns to action Tuesday in an ICCAC contest at Marshalltown CC. Match time is slated for 4 p.m.
