Threatening calls made to Mason City residents from alleged fraudster, police say

MASON CITY – Mason City police today warned of scams related to threatening phone calls from a fraudster claiming to be connected to a power company.

According to a statement from Mason City police:

“Today, many area residents and business have reported getting threatening phone calls from someone claiming to be with Alliant Energy. The caller threatens to shut off the resident’s or business utilities in 1 hr unless the person pays immediately over the phone. Alliant does not operate this way. Residents should never give out sensitive information to unsolicited callers or emailers. If in doubt, check your account on line or contact the Alliant office first.”

People would have to read the globe to notice. Nobody does especially that $5 piece of shit they try to sell on wednesdays. Chuck the globe Gazette up its gay dick. They are inaccurate, late and overpriced.

Is it the let’s get whitey faction or a meth head fund drive. Signs of the times in good ‘ole Iowa. It’s probably a good idea the Globe’s paper newspaper is going away. Keep the bad news out of the public view.
