MASON CITY – A Mason City man is behind bars and accused by police of molesting a young girl.
On Wednesday, August 15th the Mason City Police Department arrested 61-year-old Russell Neil Leverne of Mason City in connection with sexually assaulting an eight-year old-child.
Leverne is accused of committing sex acts with the child on multiple occasions between June and July of this year. Leverne has been charged with three counts of Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree; a class B felony. He was taken into custody at police headquarters and transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
