CHARLES CITY – A New Hampton woman was cited by Charles City police after an ill-timed lane change lead to a collision.

On August 6, 2018 at about 10:11 AM, the Charles City police department responded to a two-vehicle accident near Highway 18 and South Grand Avenue. Officers discovered that a black 2015 Chevy K150 truck driven by 53-year-old John Paulus of Rockford was north bound on Highway 18 when a maroon 2007 Chevy Impala driven by 65-year-old Dianne Hruska of New Hampton was also northbound. Hruska’s Impala then turned into Paulus’ lane as she attempted to switch lanes and struck Paulus’ truck. There were no injuries, but there was approximately $2,500 in damages to the vehicles.

Hruska was cited for unsafe turn.
