Clear Lake woman named to Children’s System State Board

DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds announced appointments Tuesday to the Children’s System State Board, which includes a woman from Clear Lake.

This board will establish a platform to begin developing a children’s mental health system to improve the well-being of children and families, provide educational growth and coordinate mental health care. This board will move Iowa’s children’s mental health system forward without delay, laying the groundwork for future legislation.

“I am very thankful to the Iowans who graciously took the time and effort to apply to serve,” Gov. Reynolds said. “This is the first of many steps forward we are taking to establish a children’s mental health system. I look forward to working with the members of this board to ensure Iowans of all ages have access to the mental health care they need.”

The board’s first meeting will be August 23.
