MASON CITY – An anonymous family is teaming up with the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank to raise money for milk.
This family will do a matching donation of up to a total of one thousand dollars on money donated to the Milk Money project from June 11-16. This effectively allows a donor to double their donation due to the generosity of this local family.
The local food bank is trying to raise $5,000 to help cover the costs of milk that will be purchased this summer. Last summer Hawkeye Harvest Food bank provided individuals and families with more than 4,000 half gallons of milk.
Donors to Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank are asked to write Milk Money in the memo line of their matching donation.
Donations can be dropped of to Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank between the hours of 9-11 a.m. Monday through Friday at 122 South Adams. Those who wish to mail a check can send their donation to Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank P.O. 1565 Mason City, IA 50402
