TETON COUNTY, WYOMING – A Northern Iowa man died this weekend while snowmobiling in Wyoming.
Teton County, Wyoming Search and Rescue said their “team responded (Sunday) afternoon (April 22) to the scene of an avalanche burial. 22 volunteers and search dog teams” responded. The incident took place around 3:30 PM near Mt. Leidy by snowmobilers at an altitude of over 10,000 feet.
The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Taylor Bruggeman, reportedly from St. Ansgar, who was buried in 2-feet of snow.
Buckrail.com reports that the group Bruggeman was with had no avalanche rescue gear. He was found later Sunday evening, hours after the avalanche took place.
