Sex offender nabbed in Mason City on domestic assault warrant

MASON CITY – A convicted sex offender with a long criminal record in Minnesota was caught in Mason City on warrants for domestic assault.

Robert Lee Bolden, age 35, had been wanted for months in Cerro Gordo county for failure to register as a sex offender. The Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office filed the charge in October of 2017. He was finally picked up on the afternoon of March 30 and brought to the county jail. He was also wanted on warrants out of Wright county for domestic abuse assault.

Bolden remains held in the jail, awaiting a hearing set for April 4.

Records show Bolden has a long criminal record in Minnesota, including aggravated robbery-2nd degree, terroristic threats, predatory offender-knowingly violates registration requirements, check forgery, aggravated robbery-1st degree, theft, drug offenses and more.
