NIACC Alumni Association annual luncheon to feature awards for Minert, Zahariades

MASON CITY – Steve Minert and Didi Zahariades will be presented with awards at the NIACC Alumni Association’s annual luncheon next month.

Mason City businessman Steve Minert will be honored as Distinguished Alumnus, as NIT previously reported. A 1990 NIACC graduate, Minert later studied at the University of Northern Iowa, where he majored in Political Science and Criminal Justice. His four-year degree, which is in Political Science and federal Agency Administration, is from Buena Vista university, from which he graduated in 1992. Since then, he’s served as the General Manager and President of Harley-Davidson of Mason City. He and his father, Ron Minert, own the Harley-Davidson dealerships in Charles city and Mason City. The Mason city franchise is Iowa’s largest, based on sales volume and valued inventory.

Didi Zahariades

Didi Zahariades, a Mason City native and 1990 graduate of NIACC, will be honored for her accomplishments with the Outstanding Alumna award. Zahariades is a psychotherapist, executive coach, and motivational speaker specializing in development of individuals. She will serve as the keynote speaker.

Numerous current students will also be recognized with the NIACC Student Leadership award.

NIACC Alumni Association’s 28th annual Pathways to Success luncheon will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018.  The event is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Muse Norris Conference Center on campus.

Tickets are available for $17.00 through the NIACC Business office (1-888-GO NIACC, ext 4188). Sponsors include the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors and NIACC Student Senate.
