Gov. Reynolds signs 5 bills into law

DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds signed the following five bills into law on Wednesday:

House File 2175: an Act relating to the maximum value of life insurance companies’ and life insurance associations’ investments in CM3 classified mezzanine loans as a percentage of such company’s or association’s legal reserve. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 20, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on Feb. 26, 49-0.

House File 2197: an Act relating to the administration of driving skills tests required for a commercial driver’s license. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 19, 97-0 and the Iowa Senate on Feb. 26, 49-0.

House File 2230: an Act relating to the state school foundation program by establishing the state percent of growth and the categorical state percent of growth for the budget year beginning July 1, 2018, modifying provisions relating to school district property tax replacement payments, and including effective date provisions. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 7, 57-40 and the Iowa Senate on Feb. 26, 28-21.

House File 2240: an Act permitting employers to provide employees with wage statements by electronic means. This bill passed the Iowa House on Feb. 21, 98-0 and the Iowa Senate on Feb. 26, 47-2.

Senate File 2163: an Act relating to amber, blue, and white lighting devices and reflectors on motor vehicles and equipment owned by the Department of Transportation and used for snow and ice treatment or removal. This bill passed the Iowa Senate on Feb. 19, 45-4 and the Iowa House on Feb. 26, 95-3.
