North Iowa man accused of chasing, choking and beating his girlfriend

ESTEHRVILLE – Before police could catch up with a suspected domestic abuser, the suspect allegedly chased, choked and beat his girlfriend for a second time as law enforcement closed in.

On Friday, January 5, 2018, Estherville police officers received a report from a female victim at 1621 2nd Avenue North in Estherville that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend on New Years Day. The victim reported that she was choked, beaten and threatened on January 1st. She also reported that she was afraid of him due to his threats of killing her.

Officers requested arrest warrants be issued for 32-year-old, Nabil Moussaddak of Estherville for the offenses of Domestic Assault (Strangulation) and Domestic Assault (Serious Misdemeanor).

Before the warrants could be issued, Moussaddak confronted the female victim again at the residence January 5. On this occasion, Moussadak assaulted his girlfriend by pulling her hair and again choking her. Moussaddak also chased the victim outside and around a car, occupied by a 3-year-old child, while threatening to harm the victim.

Moussaddak was taken into custody at the residence without further incident. His charges on the new assault are; Domestic Abuse Assault (Simple Misdemeanor), Domestic Assault (Strangulation), Child Endangerment, and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana). He was transported to the Emmet County Jail and later posted bond and was released from jail.
