PEORIA, Ill. – The No. 2 NIACC women’s basketball team dropped a 73-63 decision to No. 10 Owens CC on Saturday in the consolation game of the Illinois Central Cougar Holiday Tournament.
Owens CC, which led 33-26 at the half, led 56-46 after three quarters and held on for the 10-point victory.
Mikayla Homola led NIACC (13-3) with 13 points. Also in double figures for the Lady Trojans were Laker Ward with 12, Kenlie Pytleski with 11 and UU Longs with 10.
Pytleski led the Lady Trojans with nine rebounds.
NIACC was 11 of 41 from 3-point range. Pytleski had three 3-point goals, Taylor Laabs had three 3-point goals, Homola had three and Ward had 2.
Also for the Lady Trojans, Kelsie Willert and Khalilah Holloway both had three assists.
NIACC returns to action Jan. 13 at home in its ICCAC opener against No. 16 Southeastern CC. It will be the Lady Trojans first home game since they beat the Grand View Junior Varsity on Nov. 26.
