MASON CITY – The NIACC baseball team is ranked No. 16 by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in its 2018 NJCAA Division II preseason poll.
NIACC (39-19 overall in 2017) is the lone ICCAC school ranked in the preseason poll. Defending national champion Kankakee CC (Ill.) is ranked No. 1 in the initial poll.
Southeast CC (Neb.), which represented the North Plains District in the 2017 World Series, is ranked No. 19.
NIACC opens the 2018 campaign Feb. 24-25 in a four-game series against MCC-Maple Woods in Kansas City, Mo.
