MASON CITY – An Iowa man was stopped and arrested in Clear Lake after police found methamphetamine, a loaded gun and more.
On December 13, 2017, at about 11:16 PM, a Cerro Gordo County Deputy made a traffic stop of a red Chevrolet Silverado near the intersection of South 40th Street and 4th Avenue South in Clear Lake for towing a trailer with no license plate. During the stop, 37-year-old Jason Scott Clark of Churdan, Iowa, was arrested for driving under suspension and open container. During the stop, suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded 9mm handgun were located.
Clark was charged with the following:
Possession of a firearm as a felon, a Class D Felony Carrying a dangerous weapon, an Aggravated Misdemeanor Trafficking in stolen weapons, a Class D Felony 3’d Offense possession of methamphetamine, a Class D Felony Possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor Driving under suspension, a simple misdemeanor Open container of alcohol, a simple misdemeanor Clark is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $17,000 bond.
This should scare people. We have idiots like this running around with weapons and they are dumb enough to use them. It is a great reason to carry.
