UPDATED: Collision outside Mason City claims Arkansas man’s life

MASON CITY – One person died as a result of a two-vehicle collision early Wednesday morning.

On November 8, 2017 at 1:28 AM, deputies from the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office repsonded to a two vehcile collision at 186 mile marker on Highway 18 in Cerro Gordo County. Upon arrival Deputies found a 2002 Chevrolet Impala driven by Darick Woolridge, 49, of Harrison, AR and a 2016 Kenworth semi driven by Jesse Gibson, 28, of North Little Rpulaski, AR. Both vehicles came to rest in the median. Woolridge was pronounced dead at the scene. Gibson was not injured. Woolridge was parked on the side right of the road and made a left turn directly into the path of east bound semi. The accident still remains under investigation.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriffs Department was assisted by Mason City Police Department, Mason City Fire Department, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DOT.

Clear Lake is mile post (mp) 195. So south of Clear Lake. Probably around Rockwell exit or so.

oops, except this is Hwy 18, not I35. So I have no idea where that is. LOL

I think that would be around or at the Portland exit, I. e. S-56 or California Avenue..

1:30 in the morning, headlights on, maybe he did it on purpose.
