Hanlontown couple sponsors Five Dollar Feline adoption drive at the Humane Society of North Iowa

MASON CITY – Every Friday in the month of November, the Humane Society of North Iowa (HSNI) will reduce the adoption fee for shelter cats over the age of 6 months to just $5.00, a savings of over $100.00 from the usual adoption fee.

This promotion is being generously funded by Hanlontown couple, Shanan and Aaron Redinger. The Redingers funded this same promotion 2 years ago for the shelter and it resulted in 34 extra feline adoptions that month. “We were very pleased with how many additional cats found homes because of this promotion the last time,” said Shanan Redinger, “We are happy to help the Humane Society of North Iowa place even more cats into loving forever homes.” concluded Shanan.

“We were very inspired by the success of the previous promotion,” said Aaron Redinger. “We know that the Humane Society of North Iowa has seen a large influx of homeless cats all summer and fall, so we are hopeful this adoption promotion will help to find all these cats homes.”

The Five Dollar Feline adoption drive will be offered every Friday during the month of November on cats aged 6 months or older. The $5.00 adoption fee will cover: spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, feline leukemia testing and a veterinarian exam. To qualify for the reduced adoption fee, adoption applications must be submitted during business hours on any Friday (10:00 am to 5:00 pm) within the month of November. Applicants must meet all adoption standards and requirements.

“We currently have over 100 cats available for adoption at the shelter that all need forever homes,” said Sybil Soukup, Executive Director of the HSNI. “We are extremely grateful for the very generous offer from the Redinger’s to help us promote and find homes for our shelter cats by funding this adoption promo. We hope it results in lots of adoptions!”
