ANAMOSA, IOWA – An Iowa prison inmate and convicted murderer has died in captivity, Iowa prison officials said.
Raymond Metz was pronounced dead due to natural causes at 5:58 PM on October 21, 2017 in a hospice room at the Anamosa State Penitentiary. Metz was 63-years-old at the time of his death.
Metz had been serving a sentence for Murder 2nd out of Webster County. His sentence began on June 5, 2002. Case notes state Metz murdered Donald Rundall on the evening of September 15, 1998 after a night of drinking in Fort Dodge.
