Northwood to offer Oktoberfest celebration Saturday Sep. 30

Northwood, in Worth county
NORTHWOOD – Don your lederhosen and dirndls for the family-friendly fall fest of the year in Northwood Saturday Sept. 30. Worth Brewing Company and TUNE, Northwood’s community betterment group, will tap the honey-hued elixir known as Oktoberfest Lagerbier from noon to 11 p.m. We’re closing down Central
Avenue and welcoming all ages to our tenth Oktoberfest bash.

Most of the Oktoberfest beer is consumed in one day so make plans to sample this malty brew before it’s too late. While authentic German-style beer is the headliner, TUNE will serve locally made Fest Dogs and all the trimmings: red cabbage and sauerkraut, pork loins, hot dogs and candied almonds.

Enjoy games all day, including hammerschlagen, bags, stein hoisting and beer poking-all free. New this year is a breweriana event in the ballroom with vintage signs, glassware, coasters and other rarities to view and buy from noon to 5 p.m. in the Bee Hive Ballroom above the Tap Room.

Iowa rockers New Trick take the stage at 7 p.m. to perform hits from the 70s to today. They were a hit last year and are favorites at Diamond Jo and other venues in the upper Midwest.

Worth Brewing Company has been pouring craft beer for ten years and Oktoberfest is the most anticipated event annually.
