MASON CITY – The NIACC men’s soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Marshalltown CC in an ICCAC contest at the NIACC pitch Saturday afternoon.
Marshalltown, which led 1-0 at the half on a goal by Rafael Vacas, pushed its lead to 2-0 with 27 minutes, 30 seconds left in the contest on a direct corner-kick goal by Evandro Resende.
NIACC trimmed the decicit to 2-1 with 20:00 remaining in the match on a goal by Jack Doyle with an assist from Lewis Saunders.
NIACC (3-1 overall, 0-1 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday at home against Iowa Lakes. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
