MUSCATINE, IOWA – An Iowa teen lost her life Wednesday night when a car struck her as she rode her bicycle.
The accident took place August 16 at about 9:07 PM near Muscatine, Iowa, at County road G44X west of G Avenue. A 1999 Ford Taurus driven by 26-year-old Alexander Cortes-Wolfe of Wapello, Iowa was westbound on G44X when he struck a bicycle that was also in the westbound lane, sending it and the rider into the north ditch. The female bicycle rider, 14-year-old Raeanna M. Reynolds of Muscatine, Iowa, was taken by ambulance to a Muscatine hospital and later died.
The accident remains under investigation.
