Northern Iowa man jailed after attacking deputies

RIDGEWAY, IOWA – A trespassing incident led to a Northern Iowa man attacking deputies in a jail.

Winneshiek county deputies responded to a report of trespassing at a residence near Ridgeway, Iowa, on the afternoon of Monday, July 24. Jeremy Meyer, age 45 of Spillville, Iowa was located at this residence. Allegedly, Meyer began making several threats to multiple individuals and resisted arrest. Meyer was arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail. At the jail, Meyer allegedly assaulted two deputies. One of the deputies sustained injuries.

As a result, Meyer was charged with Felony assault on a peace officer, aggravated misdemeanor assault on a peace officer, interference with official acts, 4 counts of first degree aggravated misdemeanor harassment and trespassing.
