Winnebago River in East Park

MASON CITY – A float and cleanup will soon be held along the Winnebago River in Mason City.

A river cleanup float will be held on the Winnebago River on Saturday, August 5 from 9 a.m. – Noon.

This float is open to the public and a limited number of canoes will be available for use. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own canoes or kayaks as well. The 2.5 mile float will begin at East Park and end at Averydale Access on Birch Drive.

The goal is to enjoy a beautiful stretch of river, picking up trash along the way. Volunteers are asked to wear clothing that can get dirty and wet. Life jackets are required. All participants will need to arrange their own transportation back from the end of the float.

This event is sponsored by the Mason City Earth Day Committee, Mason City Active Living and Transportation Commission, and Lime Creek Nature Center. Registration is required by calling 641-423-5309.

The trash looks bad but won;t kill you like the Winnebago water which is contaminated from farm run-off pig chit and pesticide sprays – The Iowa DNR will not actually give the public a full disclosure of deadly materials in your well water or river water — Try to get a company to analyze a water sample – Will never happen – more than a half a dozen people I know were turned downed when they tried – Say I am full of bullshit – thats what the Elected officals in Flint Mi. told the public – liars -phonies – hide the truth is a norm for the democraps.

You do know that YOUR government also monitors YOUR city sewage plants. And lies to YOU about how safe the discharge is from YOUR sewage plants. So why don’t YOU drink the water from YOUR sewage plant if YOUR human chit is not part of the problem? And why don’t YOU pick your garbage up and dispose of it properly? And why do YOU pile YOUR garbage in a huge mound in a RURAL AREA that is a WETLAND? YOU seem to forget that it be YOUR fault also. Suck it up buttercup and quit being one of “those” people.

Calling all of you environmentalists who are complaining about the farmers, time for you to get off your … and pick up all the trash from yourself and fellow citizens. If all you complainers would get to work, your town might be palatable to visitors.
