Convicted thief appears back at store she stole from, tries to damage door

MASON CITY – A woman who was convicted of stealing from a downtown Mason City retailer appeared Sunday morning at the store she victimized and tried to damage a door.

On July 2, 2017 at 10:02 AM, witnesses reported a female was outside Younkers yelling and causing a disturbance. The female, later identified as 33-year-old Danyelle Allred Goss, allegedly threw an item at the business window or door. Employees confronted Goss who took off on foot. Mason City police officers located her on foot, leaving the area. Goss tried to run from the police but was apprehended. She was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Interference with Official Acts and jailed.

Police say there was no damage to the store, but she was attempting to break a glass window at Younkers.

Goss was caught stealing twice earlier this year in Mason City – on April 10 at Walmart and February 7 at Younkers. She was guilty in both cases of fifth-degree theft and was given two concurrent 7-day jail sentences plus hundreds of dollars in court costs and fees.
