Un-registered sex offender jailed after threats

ARMSTRONG, IOWA – An un-registered sex offender has been taken to jail for leveling threats in this small, Northern Iowa town.

Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens says an Armstrong, Iowa man is in custody following an investigation. On June 14, the sheriff’s office received a complaint from an Armstrong resident reporting that he was being threatened and harassed by another person in Armstrong. Upon the investigation of this complaint, it was discovered that the suspect, 21-year-old Dylan Howick, also of Armstrong, had not registered with the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office as a sex offender. An arrest warrant was issued for Howick’s arrest and he was taken to jail.

Hovick is currently being held in the Emmet County Jail on a $600.00 cash bond on the charge of 1st Degree Harassment and Failure to register as a sex offender.

Howick is supposed to me living in an Emmetsburg apartment. He has four different convictions listed on the sex offender registry, including dissemination or exhibition of obscene material, telephone dissemination of obscene material, attempted to enticing a minor, and in Minnesota – stalking.
