MASON CITY – A Mason City man with a history of domestic violence was arrested again this weekend after yet another incident.
Mason City police were called to 1220 9 Street SW just after 5 AM on Sunday, June 11 to respond to a domestic situation. After an investigation, 36-year-old Andrew Craig Buttshaw was arrested on charges of false imprisonment and second-offense domestic abuse assault. He was taken to jail and released by the next day with a no-contact order. He will face a June 30 hearing.
Buttshaw was charged in 2009 with felony third or subsequent offense domestic abuse but a judge let him plead to only second offense domestic abuse and he got away with two days in jail and a suspended fine. He’s also been accused of other crimes.
