State grant will help improve Osage roadways

OSAGE – A state grant will help improve some roadways in Osage.

Mitchell County and the City of Osage have secured a “Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy” (RISE) Grant from the State of Iowa for improvements of roadways located adjacent to the Valent Bioscience Corporation site, TOPPS, and A-Z Drying in south east Osage. Improvements include Portland Cement Concrete paving with associated grading, drainage and surface restoration.

The project is: beginnig at the east end of Chestnut street, on south 13th street, south to 350th street, then east to the Orchard Road. The city of Osage says they are in the design phase of the project at this time with anticipated letting dates in September of 2017, with construction beginning in the fall, or spring of 2018.

A public informational meeting will be scheduled soon, the city says, for questions and concerns that may arise during the construction phase to help minimize the inconvenience of the residence access and the industry operations and employee access.

This is a joint State, Michell County, and City of Osage project.
