MASON CITY – A Mason City man is behind bars, accused of felony crimes connected to his alleged activities of embezzling from a local doggie hotel.

Mason City police tell NIT that Johnathan Francis Kofron, age 48 of Mason City, is accused of missappropriation or theft of approximately $34,000 during a 10 month stretch, from 2014 through 2015, while he was an employee and/or part-owner of Bark Break Hotel LLC. The 2 criminal charges stem from an investigation of the suspected embezzling.

Kofron was picked up late last week on two arrest warrants at his house in Mason City – first-degree theft and ongoing criminal activity. He was released with supervision as he awaits a hearing set for later this month.
