CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man was taken to jail after an alleged domestic assault in which he choked the victim.
On May 3 at about 8:27 PM, officers with the Charles City police department were called to the 1300 block of Gilbert Street to investigate a domestic incident. They spoke with a resident about an incident that happened the previous day. As a result of the investigation, the officers arrested 38-year-old Levi Green of Charles City on a charge of felony D domestic abuse assault involving choking.
Green was taken to the county jail and booked. A judge put a no-contact order between Green and his alleged victim. Green was released from jail pending a hearing set for May 17.
