MASON CITY – A Mason City man was taken to jail after he he was stopped for drunk driving and the officer discovered an illegal substance.
A Cerro Gordo county deputy conducted a traffic stop late on the evening of May 9, just before midnight, near 3205 Willow Creek Court in Clear Lake. After an interaction with the driver and an investigation, the deputy arrested 23-year-old Samuel Audiel Leider of Mason City. Leader was charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated, open container of alcohol, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts.
Leider was jailed and soon released, pending a court date set for later this month.
Only 23 yrs old and he has his second OWI under his belt. Sad.
