Ball, a freshman who prepped at Newman Catholic, was 15 for 20 (.750) with seven doubles, two home runs and eight RBIs in a four-game series against Ellsworth. In game two of last Friday’s doubleheader, Ball was 6 for 7 with four doubles and a home run.
Ball is hitting .429 with 22 doubles, seven home runs and 49 RBIs.
Schwarz, who prepped at Des Moines Hoover, hit .571 last week as the Trojans went 5-1, includng a four-game sweep of Ellsworth. Schwarz had four doubles, four home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 10 runs in the six games.
In Friday’s second game against Ellsworth, Schwarz was 4 for 7 with three home runs and six RBIs.
Schwarz is hitting .342 with 13 doubles and 44 RBIs.
