Mason City man jailed in connection to vehicle thefts

ELDORA, IOWA – A Mason City man is behind bars in Hardin county in connection to car thefts.

Shaun Allen Lubben, age 31, is currently jailed in Hardin county. He is charged by the Hardin county sheriff’s office with felony second-degree theft and felony third-degree burglary after two cars were reported stolen and later found in Franklin county.

Lubben remains held on $5,000 cash or surety bond as he awaits a preliminary hearing set for May 15.

Court records show Lubben faced meth and illegal prescription possession charges as well as an unauthorized use of a credit card charge in Franklin county but took a plea deal in April of this year. He was sent to the North Iowa Transition Center and put on probation in a plea deal.
