ROCKWELL – A two-vehicle collision took place Friday morning at Rockwell, causing one person injuries.
On April 28 at 8:49 AM, on Highway 65 just south of 140th Street at Rockwell, a two vehicle collison occurred. Robert Taylor, age 53 of Mason City was driving a 1980 GMC truck traveling southbound on Highway 65. At the same time, a 2000 Ford Excursion driven by Sammantha Heckel, age 28, with passenger Andrew Stephenson age 30, both of Wellsburg, Iowa, was traveling northbound. Taylor’s vehicle crossed the center line, colliding with Heckel’s vehicle on the driver’s side. Mr. Taylor substained minor injuries, the sheriff’s office says. No occupants were transported to the hospital, and both vehicles were towed from the scence.
Taylor was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two way road.
Heckel was cited for failure to provide proof of insurance, accident related.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Mason City Fire Medics and Rockwell Fire / EMTs.
