MASON CITY – A Mason City man along with his two cohorts from the Twin Cities are in jail after a traffic stop Wednesday morning.

Mason City police say that on Wednesday morning, April 19, 2017, at 10:54 AM, officers pulled over a red Dodge Durango near Highway 122 and South Grover Avenue. Officers were investigating several suspected check forgeries over the last few days in Mason City. This vehicle and one or more occupants were suspected in being involved in the forgeries.

The driver, James Durel Brown, age 37 of Blaine, Minnesota, was arrested for no drivers license, and failure to prove security against liability (no veh insurance). The second occupant, Tanner James Haugh, age 21 of Mason City, was arrested on a valid arrest warrant from Black Hawk County, Iowa for felony second-degree theft. The third occupant, Kyle Deshon Johnson, age 35 of Minneapolis, Minnesota, was questioned and charged with 5 counts of felony forgery related to the check forgeries in Mason City over the last few days.

Police impounded the red Durango and are applying for a search warrant for the vehicle. The case still remains under investigation.

All three men remained in jail Wednesday afternoon.

These are known meth heads that break into houses and steal from their “friends”. Tanner is full or meth, only a matter of time before he gets arrested for a major crime.

Three turds off the streets for a few minutes anyway.

Mason city – an easy hit – jut ask the big corporations and thieves.
