CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake man will serve a week in jail for his second drunk driving conviction.
Scott Michael Demro, age 26 of Clear Lake, was booked into the Cerro Gordo county jail Sunday evening. Demo had been arrested back on December 17, 2016, for second-offense operating while intoxicated and failure to maintain control of his vehicle. After first pleading not-guilty in February, Demro later entered a guilty plea to the charge and was sentenced to 7 days in jail, had his driver’s license revoked and was ordered to pay $2,641.25 in fines and court fees.
Between 2009 and 2011, Demro was guilty of four alcohol-related crimes in Johnson county, including public intoxication 3 times and then a drunk driving conviction in 2011 in which he was accused of interference with official acts causing bodily injury. He later pled guilty to a lesser crime of interference.
