NIACC’s Khat signs with Northern Iowa

MASON CITY – NIACC’s Wal Khat signed a national letter of intent Thursday to run cross country and track and field at the University of Northern Iowa.

Khat, who was selected as the NJCAA Midwest region indoor track athlete of the year, became the first NIACC male athlete to claim a national track and field title with his victory in the 800-meter run in a school record time of 1:51.78 at the NJCAA national indoor meet in March.

Khat also placed 17th at the NJCAA national cross country meet in November of 2016.
